May was coming to an end, and we decided to end it together.
He had block leave and we spent the entire week together.
Our first getaway to Krabi, Thailand. Exactly a month ago, 27 May - 30 May '14.
Had everything planned out just a month or so back and got it at the lowest price we thought it was.
Started our 4-day trip by having Mac breakfast at the airport and the most unthinkable happened..
(I will not say because it is just plain unlucky. Some of you might have guessed why)
Flight there was about an hour and a half or so.
It was early early in the morning thus our tired faces.
We both took a nap in the plane and our faces became even more tired than before.
Arriving at the airport, and waiting to go through immigration, we saw this girl with blue pants.
According to Ches, she was on the same train as him when he made his way to the airport.
We saw her at Changi airport and then she appeared at Krabi as well.
Anyhow, getting out of the airport, we had a pickup and we were headed to our resort.
Driving through town and then to the rural areas of Krabi.
It was really rewarding, for me at least, to be able to witness the way they lived their lives in simplicity.
We saw cows, paddy fields, cows, cows, monkeys, donkeys, chickens, and no dogs or cats! :(
Arrived at the resort after a 30 min ride and went on with our plan to just sleep once we checked-in.
An hour or so rest before we went to look for food.
Being in a resort and secluded from town, we asked for the nearest restaurant and it was a 10 minute walk.
We did and took some photos with and of goats along the road.
Had a weird lunch of extra spicy green curry for Ches and I just had a mildly spiced Pad Thai. YUM.
We were skeptical of the place and were bombarded with flies all over.
Being a city kid is tough to adapt to such a way of living.
Nonetheless, it was something we could not get anywhere else and neither did we get poisoned, so thank God!
Headed back to the resort and did a quick tour of the area. Calming.
Without any plans, we decided on getting a cab to the city area to have our dinner settled there.
Bought some essentials at really low prices, which I love!
But also, they may not be trustable, but whatever. Can't be spoilt brats around here.
Enjoyed the Night Market and back to our room for some movies and rest!
Day 2 barely started well with us being lazy and the rest of the group were waiting on us to get ready.
Lazy bums are always lazy, missed breakfast because of that and had dragged our lazy ass out to the bus.
Made our way to Krabi Town area for a little walk and lunch while we waited for the bus to Temple Cave.
For us, we were clueless and barely knew what to expect.
Took a walk around the premises and it was all temples and statues.
Yes, I know it is called Temple Cave, but we had no clue what it was all about. (We didn't do our work)
Anyhow, as we walked around, we saw a bunch of monkeys and a man giving them peanuts!
Really cute when they took the nut out of his hand, opened it, ate it and were so damn greedy!
We then happen to come by this area which shows of a challenge to climb up the mountain/cave(?), I have no clue what it's called.
It had 1260 steps up and well, we had nothing better to do and we took the challenge!
Started off well, and then the steps were what seemed never ending!!
It was so steep and tiny, I swear the first thing that hit me when I were facing those steps was that "I am climbing the Great Wall of China AGAIN"
Been years that I did that, and this was just the same. Except that I could complete this.
The journey up was one that exhausted me mentally and physically. Because I am really lazy, I never exercised for God knows how long, I barely have any stamina to begin with.
And the fact that Ches is all hating the thought of exercising, he was waiting on me throughout.
It's so funny actly, I wasted a lot of his time and he could have completed it 2-3 times faster.
WE MADE IT STILL. The view above was breathtaking and never had I imagined what it had to offer.
Other than the awesome view, it had water and free Wifi as well, ke ke ke~
Took my time to go back down, died in the bus ride back to our resort, and had a very good shower.
I washed off my sweat while Ches swam off his sweat in our pool.
Ended the night with a very unromantic candlelit dinner as we were flies infested!
Had never used insect repellent as much as I use it here.
Day 3 was another that started early as we made our way back to Krabi Town to switch bus to go Ao Nang. Free transport!
Made friends with this M'sian couple who had roomed opposite us back at our resort.
A day in the sun, finally! Taking in the sun and absorbing the atmosphere, enjoying the waters.
Was the first I ever see him being happy in water, like a little boy.
Went to a few islands and had a buffet lunch followed by snorkelling, finally.
The most awaited event of the day for him being his first time!
I was amazed with the amount of fish I could see this time as compared to my previous experiences.
A day went spent in the sun, I must say.
I had intentions of tanning but seems like plan failed.
It was good enough though. Soaking in the sun in right outfit.
Stopped by at Krabi Town for the night to have a good massage, also a first for him.
1.5 hours for full body massage. AWESOME.
Eating at the Night Market and he got some stuffs, good experience.
Trip was coming to an end and so was spending time with this idiot.
Going back was something we both dread, but how long can we live in denial.
Finally on our last day, we had breakfast that we paid for but hadn't had since day 1.
Also, featuring the really cute house cat. LOVE.
With barely anything to do until our flight, we took a walk out of our resort only to find that opposite was a shophouse with tuktuk service.
ALL DAT MONEY WE COULD HAVE SAVED INSTEAD OF USING THE TAXI SERVICE.
Decided to take that service and went out for late lunch at a seafood restaurant nearby before the flight.
Good meal, good company and good people.
Caught a polaroid with them before leaving and went back to wash up.
Leaving was the saddest part. :(
I must say tho, that they're airport is the coolest place I've ever been the entire trip.
I will go back again and also will be more aware to actually stay in the town area for easier access.
Not that this was not a pleasant trip, but it would be easier to do activities as well.
Wish days/trips like these never ends.
Thanks for the trip, love.
To making more memories before our time is up! ♥
