(PS: The links to the last 2 post before this, because this is so long it pushed them off) New job.Daily life updates.
I know it's already almost mid of May and I went on my grad trip 2 months ago, but I've been so busy.
Or rather, busy doing nothing and just enjoying the luxury of time which is in my hands now, finally.
Anyway......
(This is going to be a heavily photo dense post and also to mention it will be LONG)
Grad trip 2 months back was a 5d4n trip which got cut into 4d4n because of wrong flight timing.
Nonetheless, I must say that I had one helluva good time with my mates :)
Departure early in the morning where I picked Leslie from his place, I feel like my mission is accomplished.
With Alex and Alison's mom sending us off, we started our journey.
A selfie at the departure hall, next to Starbucks and in the plane.
Short journey over to Phuket! (The destination that I've yet to mention so far)
Throughout the entire plane ride, all of us just slept as it was really an early flight!
Excited and tired as we were, we got ourselves together and were all ready to get settled and explore.
Without much prior planning, all we did were impromptu plans by googling and asking for directions.
I loved it, yet it was not so good too because we really did not research nor did we know much.
Arriving in Phuket, we had someone to pick us up at the airport and send us to the hotel, for free :)
It was an interesting way of communicating with the driver because we had to meet someone, and his English was not too good.
With little gestures and simple phrases, we had a good start.
Arrived at our hotel and checking into our rooms at the top level, we had a good view of the houses around.
Settling down shortly, we decided to head out, where to? We had no clue.
As our hotel was deep inside and atop of a little hill, we had to take some time before getting to the main road.
The sun was killing us but we were too excited to be bothered by it.
Hungry, as it was lunch time, we walked along the streets and found a little shop outside the hotel.
Settled there and with our dear ZM talking to everyone, she managed to ask someone directions to get us to town. (I can't even rmb what was the name of the place. Heh.)
So we got onto their local transport of a.... bus? I don't even know, please don't judge me. Haha.
An interesting mode of transport, small, efficient, fully utilised, and going at speeds it shouldn't have been.
So we arrived at this lane, where most of the shops were still closed because we were too early.
But as we took our time to walk around, more and more shops started to open.
Escaping from the sun, we decided to have coffee.
Cooling ourselves waiting for the sun to set, we again, asked for directions to go to this night market.
Going back and forth, someone then hooked us up with a private mini van to get us there at a flat rate.
Being our first time, we were paranoid and thought of all the possible things we would do if they were going to kill us. LOL.
Also, because it was our first time, we didn't know the prices to such offers that we stupidly agreed to pay at q a high price, as compared to normal. (or rather, people who knows their charges)
Night market was similar to that of Bangkok, except that everything is beach wear. LOL.
We walked and squeezed in all that crowd but barely bought much.
Dinner was settled there and we sadly, didn't have the courage to try insects!
Long journey back to the hotel as we were gna rest up for day 2.
Day 2
With prior decisions and booking, we planned for a fun filled day which starts at 9am.
Breakfast was good, like who doesn't like hotel international buffet breakfasts right? :)
Waking up early was never our thing, so we grabbed as much food as we could before we headed off.
Bus picked us up from hotel once again!
Travelling far to the coastal stretch, we had to change to this mini bus-like vehicle to continue our journey.
We then had a little trail adventure to this small little pond/waterfall area.
Not like we had a choice but since it was a package, we just followed with it.
All our groggy, still sleepy faces, and all this happened before 11 am.
But loving the experience so far, we slowly took our time to freshen up for water rafting!
Getting back to the main area with lockers and such, we prepared ourselves for it.
We even opted to pay more and the go another extra 2km for it.
No pictures because I don't know what happened, but we do have a video of the entire process.
An amazing first time experience but sad that Kim and Nat didn't join us for this activity.
Lunch was then provided after the activity. Not too bad.
We were then brought to another area to watch Elephant and Monkey show.
Felt really bad for the animals who were being chained up and were forced to do things.
I really wonder how much pain they had to go through during their "trainings".
We also went on an elephant ride, which we learnt later that it wasn't good too because they are abused, just like we thought when we were there.
It was a good experience though.
Following that, we also went on the ATV.
Didn't expect much but turns out that what we had was not how it should be, but then again we didn't know...
Following that, we also had some fish spa and fruit eating :)
A long day comes to an end and we were sent back to the hotel.
Again, we find our way out and decided to get on a tuktuk to go Jungceylon.
Journey there made us realise that we could actually walk from the hotel.
Arriving at the mall, it all hit us at the same time that we went there for our cruise trip back in year 1 and all them memories came by.
Anyhow, we walked around and had dinner settled there before going back to the hotel for another long day 3.
Explored the streets that night, and even though we stood here, I think we all felt so stupid to not walk in and to walk across.
Because little did we know, we did not expect the beach to be at the other end of the lane.
Day 3
Again we started our day early, this time, earlier. 8am, Thailand time.
Barely surviving after the long day before, and waking up earlier, we slept throughout our journey to coral island.
Got excited when we were about to arrive because we had para-sailing on our list!
While we were in the queue to parasail, look at the background of that little person doing it!
Excited like a little kid getting an ice cream, we were ever so ready.
And I will never forget how Nat screamed throughout the entire experience and we all just laughed at her.
Great fun!
After that, we were free to snorkel and swim around the guarded areas.
Lunch was provided once again :) :) :)
We were sent back to our hotel, and since we were all drenched and haven't showered since, we decided to go to the pool to continue!
We washed up and decided to walk to Jungceylon while exploring the streets.
Found a decent place for massage, found a street stall selling coconut ice cream and we settled for seafood dinner!
After dinner, we had our coconut ice cream, and we split up.
Boys going for ping pong show, girls going shopping, ZM and I went for Thai massage ♥.♥
After a fulfilling night, the girls got on a tuktuk and went back.
Waited for the boys to be back to share their experience before we headed to bed.
Day 4
This is practically our last day here, so the early birds us who woke up early, went for a relaxing soak in the pool.
Our first and only not rushed breakfast we had here.
Their breakfast's really good, sadly, I couldn't eat everything I wanted.
With a relaxing start to the day, we agreed on going, again, to Jungceylon for an impromptu movie!
Popcorn makes me happy, thus this selfie. Hehe.
Caught 300 and it was one helluva cheap movie plus huge box of popcorn I did not wish to let go. :')
After which, we walked along the streets and had a go at their bars by Patong Beach.
We also found the beach!!!! After all that time, on our last day, we. Found. The. Beach. OMG.
Watched the sunset and took photos like we never did.
Really love this photo of us girls :)
The night went on as any other night by the bar, looking at trannies dance, drinking beer, taking photos with trannies too, oh not forgetting the Russian lap dances too.
Perfectly normal night like any other. Great experience though.
Day 5 (Going home)
Very sad last day, we had to leave, but all the things we did will never be forgotten.
It was truly one of the best holidays EVER!
And with that, it marks the end of Grad Trip.
I can't be more thankful for all these people in my life and going through 3 years of pain together.
I LOVE YOU GUYS.
