Bintan:
In December, I had yet another short 3-day trip to Bintan, resort.
It could be one of the very much needed trip in a long time with my eyes all ready for the massage.
So we visited this beach resort which we got off a good deal.
A very last minute decision but I'm so glad we did it impromptu because I simply love such excitement.
Left 3 days after MSTs ended and dumped my projects aside. Haha.
We departed early on 9th, and had a quick breakfast at the ferry terminal.
A short ferry over to Bintan and our first day was given to a short tour where we just followed retardedly.
In the streets of Bintan where I didn't even know where I was. LOL.
Well, our first stop was in the middle of nowhere and we just walked as far as we could due to lack of time.
Tried looking for a good deal to a prepaid card but none were worth the money so we gave up.
Bought their local snacks because they make great kerepok.
We then went to their supermarket where, me being me, I got a shit load of toiletries because they are so worth!
Due to us thinking that we have loads of time, we held everyone up be being the last back to the bus.
Next stop, we went for lunch and had Ayam Penyet which was included.
Bought some more random shit and I cannot explain how cheap things were.
Only spend 7SGD until this point in time!
Visited some temple where we went to the back of it instead because we were both too lazy to remove our shoes.
Taking pictures and enjoying the wind while staying away from the burning hot sun.
Finally, we were making our way to the resort.
With all our attempts to get a prepaid, we failed and ended up using Wi-fi from the resort.
Jewing off their wi-fi as we entered our room.
A big normal room with lots of space and a great balcony.
Only downside is that since we did not upgrade our room, we got the room away from the beach.
But that was okay because since we were on the first level, we saved the trouble of climbing up and down stairs. Cos I'm lazy and we kept going back to our room often. :P
It was a beautiful place but we had a gloomy first day.
What better way to start our first day with a bowl of fries as we decide what we wanted to do.
Since our spa timing was fixed for the second day, we had nothing to do on our first day.
Planned for day 2 and 3 but due to unforeseen weather circumstances on day 1, we held back.
Explored around the beach and took photos because the scenery was one not to forget.
Yet even when it's gloomy, it provided us with a stunning view which these photos do no justice.
Spending the rest of our time just relaxing the day away from our hectic lives was much needed.
Burned the entire day until the night where we got hungry.
Ended off day 1.
Started our second day by waking up at 5 in the morning to catch the beautiful sunrise.
All groggy and half asleep, we tried our best to take some photos.
Next up, BREAKFAST.
I love how hotels and resorts have the best kinda buffet breakfast ever.
Could literally eat for as long as I can last, which by the way, continued to make me put on more weight.
It's like a mini Australia adding on to me slowly....
Killed time for a bit more because we were too early for our spa and ended up watching movies in our room.
All their spa rooms had this pretty looking door with a little Christmas wreath on it.
I loved how they have their spa away from all the rooms.
So this is our spa room, right in front of the beautiful waters with no obstructions.
Had a good foot massage and full body massage following.
A much needed stress relief from all that's been happening.
Following that, we got a quick bite and then headed for our scuba diving trip!!! This is still my favourite photo of us. :)
I would throwback to this day any day. Since it was my first time going, I was dying in excitement, on the inside.
We had to travel out to a little white sand island where the waters are clearer and there are lesser people.
Took a video but I'm not gonna upload that :')
Thank God for Matin who can communicate with the staff, we got them to teach us a little more and they guided us too.
Us looking entirely retarded in our gears HAHA.
Got to see Dory and I tried chasing them fishes because they kept swimming away from me. LOL.
A great experience nonetheless.
We then had a little stop over at the white sand island where we got a coconut and then take in all the sun.
I took in the sun while he was talking to the staff. Hahahha, I can't understand even if I tried.
A beautiful white sandy beach with the prettiest view I've ever witnessed.
Got back to our resort and we decided on a thin pizza! Was the best pizza I've never expected.
We played darts and pool in the most craziest way just to entertain ourselves because all that doing nothing was too taxing as well.
I guess we are all so used to being occupied all the time that when we have nothing to do, we feel empty.
Ended the second day with a Western meal and watching fireworks go up in the sky. Bliss.
On our last day, we both gave up for catching the sunrise we just slept it through.
Yet again another good breakfast to start off our day before we leave.
Trying to kill time yet again until we had to check out.
Even made him do a review and rate them before we left the place, thus him holding that paper. Hahaha.
The beauty of the place it had to offer is something I'll never forget, ever.
It may not be the most expensive world class place, but its simplicity is gold.
Another great trip to the end of my 2013.
Only downside I thought was the lack of activities and their high prices!
What more, we did all that effort to change our money to Rupiah but all prices were charged in SGD.
For the fact that we changed all our money, we didn't have SGD at all, we actually paid even more when we used Rupiah.
To more great getaways, 2014!
