Stuck in this huge dilemma whether or not to try for Disney....
Back in Sec 4, the only reason I looked forward to coming SP instead of TP's tourism course was because of the chance to go Disney for internship.
All the other traveling perks like cruise on first year..
Overseas immersion on second year..
& finally the overseas internship.
Even came to SP for their course talk back then and it was really the best ever yet.
Whereas for TP's, all I ever heard from ex/current students were that it was the worse choice they ever made.
Thus, the final decision to just stick to SP's and not even bother putting any courses from TP.
Now
Due to all the changes from US' embassy thingy, not sure what it is exactly, the whole Disney program has changed drastically.
Probably the biggest change would be that instead of a rotating semester ITP, it is now only fixed to 4 months in a year. Summer.
Because of such a change, it also means that the number of intake would be lower, as it was previously 20+ per semester. The number of students intake has became only to 30 odd students from Singapore, along with the restricted time frame. Not only that, they have also opened it to 2 other schools, TP and NYP. Like wtf. So probably the intake would be 10 odd per school if they are giving it equally. Well, least the interview would still be held in my school :) *proud*
Also because of this change to only summer, it would mean that those whose classes aren't going for intern during US' summer, would have to change class! Not really an issue, but troublesome..
The expenses incurred to go there remains very much the same just maybe a few thousand cheaper because it's been cut short. However, going there to work and earning that allowance is not even enough to cover the amount of money I've spent to go there.
On the other hand, going there would give me overseas experience. I can also go to their uni to take up some lessons/courses that would enhance my portfolio. But for the fact that maybe these experiences that I will gain, would not even be useful for me in the future because of the positions that are available. Furthermore, I can gain the same sort of experience in USS because of the similar positions!
While in US, i can get to travel around the states there after clocking in the hours required in a week. Which I think is the best thing ever yet because I'll be able to go around USA, like I've dreamed of for all my life since a kid!
also, there are chances to meet new people, from all over the world, and to have fun even while working because Disneyland is the most magical place on earth! :(
So many other more things to consider............
I really do not have an idea what to do right now and time is seriously running out....
I want Mickey and Minnie to welcome me like this if I get through! HAHA.
Who am I kidding man, think think think!!!!
